There’s no shortage of books covering old computer and video game formats. That said, the Commodore Amiga: a visual Commpendium book looks to be something out of the ordinary.
It’s not just the story and the fact that Commodore Amiga was a thrilling platform back in the day, it’s the level of quality this tome will have, should it get funded. This is definitely something to leave on the coffee table.
The final book will be printed lithographically to the highest possible print standards and be 264 pages long. It will be 230mm x 170mm in size and come with a soft cover with flaps that fold in to double the thickness. It will use thread sewn binding which is a special type of bind that has two main advantages: the first is that you are able to open the book flat (without the usual glue cracking); and second is that it is much more durable. Glue ages over time and cracks but thread sewn binds last forever. The book is also available as a limited edition hardback option (only 25 available) which will be individually numbered and signed by Stoo Cambridge and Jon Hare (Sensible Software).
There are lots of interesting perks to pick from, but a lot of them are already sold out. Out of the ones who’re still available, as of publication, this one’s our favorite.
